        The cells can die in many ways –
        through infection, poisoning, overheating or lack of oxygen. Apoptosis is another cause.

        apoptosis is when cells “commit suicide” so they don’t damage surrounding cells. cells can also die of old age.

        Cells die so that they can be replaced by new cells (like in case of skin, new cells keep on forming, and old cells die) and let the cell cycle go on.

        Apoptosis (cell suicide) is also one of the reasons of cell death. However, it can also be induced by some external factors like viruses.
