We simply don’t know what is dark matter, to be honest.
The stuff which astronomers now discuss is nothing like a material that you can just pick up and set down. Dark matter is a name given to material whose existence is only evidenced by its gravitational behaviour. Which cannot interact chemically, structurally, electrically or magnetically. Basically, it is just material involved in gravitation alone.
